In Korea, a funeral proceeds usually for 2 nights and 3 days from the day when the dead passes away.
> In Korea, the wake  usually lasts for 2 nights and 3 days from the day the person passes away.

On the first and the second days, the dead’s families and relatives greet mourners.
> On the first and second days, the bereaved families and relatives greet the mourners.

On the last day, the dead body is cleaned and dressed and then, it will be buried or cremated

Lastly, the families and relatives bury the dead body or the ash to a public or familial burial ground.

For that reason, my wife and I also should stay at the funeral for 3 days.

In the case of my family, we don’t need to do that.

We can visit just once or twice the funeral.

However, the culture of my wife’s family is totally different.

When they have a good or sad family event, always every family members and relatives gather.
