It was Hangul Day today.
>>> Good Sentence!
It is for the commemoration of the creation of Hangul; Korean official letters, in 1492 during the Joseon Dynasty.
The great King Sejong and his loyal scholars invented it.
Until that time, Koreans didn't have their own, so they used Chinese characters for communication.
However, Chinese characters were too difficult to learn. Most of the people, with the exception of the nobilities, couldn’t use them.
Then, they finally created our own letters and it was very easy to get to learn and use it.
So, more people had been able to communicate using the Hangeul characters.
However, most nobilities opposed Hangul because they had serious toadyism to China.
So, they ignored Hangul and continued to use Chinese characters for a long time.
Anyway, we now use our own letters easily due to our ancestors.
