Specially, most characters in 'Kafka on the shore' have hurts and say they live thier life with emptiness.

>Like the characters in the book " Kafka on the shore", most of them have felt pain and lived their lives with the feeling of emptiness.

While we are reading books, we tend to become the characters and feel thier feeling.

>While we are reading stories, we tend to emphatize with the characters.

So I think that's why we feel empty like the characters in 'Kafka on the shore.'

>So I think that's why we feel empty when we read it.

I think everyone lives just with their shells but tries to find their kernels during their life.

>I think everyone lives  inside their shells, but at the same time tries to find kernels during their lifetime

So we have to be a bird to find our kernels like Kafka, the hero of 'Kafka on the shore'.
